MILO Starts a Pillow Fort War

LEO brings spare pillows around the side of MILO's fort. MILO comes back with a leaf blower. Soon their defenses are being used as ammunition.

MILO threw the first white pillow from behind his yellow fort. LEO ducked behind the blue fort opposite and sent one back. Soon pillows lay across the rug between them, and MILO was holding a cushion in front of his face.

LEO loaded spare pillows onto the robot vacuum and walked it round to the side of MILO's shelter. He carried a blue cushion as a shield. From there he could help himself to the pile and throw at close range. MILO crouched behind the yellow wall; the next pillow landed beside him. All that building, and LEO had simply gone round.

MILO came up with a leaf blower. Light pillows lifted off the rug, and LEO retreated with his shield against his chest. He kept throwing, but the wind carried his pillows off course. The blue shield was useful for hiding behind. It did very little to get a pillow through to MILO.

LEO changed ammunition. He pulled the round bolster out from under his blue roof and rolled it towards MILO. The roof sagged behind him. At the yellow fort, it came to rest beside the matching bolster still supporting MILO's roof. Both had split seams with filling showing. MILO bent down and reached for his; the yellow roof sank, and loose feathers billowed across the rug. LEO was left standing on his base cushion among fallen pillows. MILO straightened with the blower still in his paws.

A figure appeared behind the frosted glass. MILO put down the blower. By the time Luci opened the door, both cats were curled up with their eyes shut. She stepped into the feathers and held one up to inspect it. Another was caught in her hair. The blower lay beside MILO.
