The story takes place on a freezing winter day. The wind howls, snow swirls through the air, and the earth is locked in the grip of bitter cold. High on a bare old tree, a fragile bird’s nest struggles against the blizzard, until at last it is torn apart by the violent wind. The three newborn chicks inside are thrown from the nest and fall into the icy snow below.
They tremble helplessly, tiny and fragile, their lives hanging by a thread.
At that critical moment, PUGGY appears. Seeing the three little lives being swallowed by the storm, it immediately lies down in the snow and gently gathers them close with its own warm body, sheltering them one by one. Its soft light-brown fur becomes their only barrier against the freezing wind. With its warmth, it protects them; with its silence, it expresses compassion and love.
Before long, a little girl discovers the scene. Her eyes well up with tears, deeply moved by what she sees. Carefully, she carries the three baby birds and PUGGY back home with her. In that humble but warm house, she and PUGGY become a little winter rescue team.
The girl feeds the chicks drop by drop with a small dropper, while PUGGY stays faithfully by their side like a loyal guardian, never leaving them for even a moment. Outside, the storm continues to rage, but inside, the room is filled with warmth because of their care and companionship.
As the days go by, the three baby birds gradually grow stronger under their devoted care. They begin to stretch their wings, smooth feathers emerge across their bodies, and their energy slowly returns, as if life itself has been rekindled within them.
At last, winter comes to an end, and spring arrives just as promised. On a morning when all things begin to bloom again, the little girl and PUGGY step outside with the birds, now fully grown and ready to fly. Sunlight spills across the grass, and a gentle breeze moves through the air. The girl opens her hands, while PUGGY tilts its head upward and watches.
The three birds spread their wings and soar into the sky. They circle overhead, as if saying goodbye, and then fly off into the bright blue heavens, toward the freedom that belongs to them.
This is a story about protection, devotion, and learning to let go. Through its actions, PUGGY shows the true meaning of gentleness—offering the purest love in the coldest season.
